Mayor Gavin Newsom, unchallenged in the next election, announced today that he intends to ask all city department heads and appointees to the city commission or board to hand in their letters of resignation, if he succeeds to a second term come November. People will be reinstated in their positions on a case-by-case basis. According to the SFGate.com, he said that he would then be starting off with a fresh slate. Depending upon the path that he pursues, Newsom will be a dream or a nightmare for San Francisco Progressives.
